Stek was een spontane samenwerking tussen CC De Kimpel (Bilzen) en een groep lokale kunstenaars, die werken in of afkomstig zijn uit de omliggende regio. Elke kunstenaar kreeg de volledige vrijheid op canvas, zowel ruimtelijk als inhoudelijk. Alle werken werden geprint en gemonteerd op verplaatsbare panelen die normaal gebruikt worden voor sociale of politieke evenementen.
Voor dit project hernam Sarah het thema van het “baken” (dat vaak terugkwam in haar voorafgaande werk) en bracht het terug naar de locatie van het Albertkanaal, waar het conceptueel is ontstaan. Het element verwijst naar het bieden van zowel richting als een krachtige aanwezigheid in het veranderende landschap.

Stek was a spontaneous collaboration between CC De Kimpel (Bilzen) and a group of local artists, working on or from the surrounding region. Each artist was given free space on canvas, spatial- and contentwise. All works were printed and mounted on moveable billboards normally used for social or political events and placed on the respective location.
For this project, Sarah retook the theme of the “beacon”, which often recurred in her prior projects, and took it back to the site of the Albert Canal, where it conceptually originated. The element alludes on providing both direction as a vast presence in the ever-changing landscape.
